Diaz just won the Pulitzer Prize for this novel. It is truly a fantastic book. I had the good fortune to befriend him when we were both undergrads at Rutgers. I always knew he'd accomplish great things, so did just about anyone else who met him. A real genius and this book shows it.

An interesting text on Zen Buddhism. Really a pretty good introduction, especially for someone who might not enjoy the more tepid prose we sometimes associate with Buddhist texts.
